This week as you read, ask yourself:
1. Where is my treasure? Is it on earth or in heaven?
2. What do I value? What are the things that I hold on to?

"What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes" (James 4:14).
Our time here on earth is short. What difference are you making with the time you have? How are you living your life for the Lord? What legacy will you leave behind?
This week, pray that God would reveal to you what action steps you need to take in your life to begin or strengthen your legacy!

Proverbs 18:21 says, "The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit".
This week our challenge is to tame our tongues!
Each morning as you wake up, before you do anything else, pray and ask God to help you control your tongue. A good prayer to pray is Psalm 141:3 - "Set a guard over my mouth, O LORD, watch over the door of my lips."
Proverbs also says, "Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones" (16:24) and "A man finds joy in giving an apt reply - and how good is a timely word" (15:23). Focus on encouraging words. Words that are loving and gentle.
Ask for accountability this week! Tell your friends and family that you are working on taming your tongue.

This week as we read in the Book of James we are challenged to not show favoritism...show mercy! We are challenged to "Love your neighbor as yourself."
Take a look at your life.
Is there anyone or any group of people that you show favoritism to? Who do you discriminate against? Is there anyone one or any group of people at school that you avoid instead of showing love to?
As you read this week, ask God to open your eyes to those around you that you should be showing more mercy and love towards. Ask God to change your heart, that you would have His eyes to see the needs of others, His love to show to others, and his hands to help others!
